The Brahma Viharas (sublime abodes) meditation practices will be our focus on sangha nights from August to October. These practices help us develop our emotional capacity for: compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity. 


Our teacher, Sangharakshita, has often stressed the important of the Brahma Viharas, he says: “Throughout the ancient scriptures of the Pali Canon it is made clear that the way to Enlightenment involves the cultivation of the emotions at every step, most often in the form of the four Brahma Viharas.”

On Wednesday 1st August and Wednesday 8th August Akuppa will introduce these practices and focus on the first of these – also the best known – the Metta Bhavana.


Sraddhamani will explore the Karuna Bhavana, the development of compassion to towards ourselves and all beings on Wednesday 15th August and Wednesday 22 August.


We will celebrate the Full Moon with a Puja and meditation, led by Jyotipala on Wednesday 29 August.


Our Sangha (spiritual community) nights are open to all who are familiar with our foundation meditation practices (Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana).

7:15pm-8:15pm – Dharma study (or puja)
8.15pm- 8.35pm – Tea-break
8:35pm- 9.15pm – meditation and mantra chanting
