Our timings for Sangha nights at our new centre are:
5.30-6.30pm – shared vegan supper (please bring a contribution)
6:30-7:10 – meditation
7:15-8:15 – Dharma study (or puja)
8.15- 8.35 – Break
8:35- 9.15 – meditation

This month we conclude our journey around the Refuge tree with the following:
Wednesday 2nd May Aryashila will lead an evening of practice and chanting to welcome the April full moon into our midst.
Wednesday 9th May The Indian teachers on the Triratna Refuge Tree will be presented to us by Jyotipala.
Wednesday 16th May Saddhasura will introduce us to the Sangharakshita’s teachers from the Refuge tree.
Wednesday 23rd May The early disciples of the Buddha will be the focus of the final Sangha evening dedicated to the Triratna Refuge Tree.
Wednesday 30th May The Buddha’s enlightenment will be celebrated with reflection, visualisation and chanting. Akuppa and Aryashila will co-lead the evening.

Coming soon – we will begin a new series of dharma teachings in June and July with a focus on the Six Paramitas – the six perfections of a Bodhisattva – generosity (Dana) ethics (Sila) patience (Ksanti) energy (Virya) meditative concentration (Dhyana) and wisdom (Prajna). There will be short presentations and groups so that we can all discuss these crucial teachings.


Regular Classes in May

All our events are taking place in our new centre at 187 Westgate road.

Monday Drop-In Beginners Meditation: 5:30pm-6:30pm Class starts promptly so please arrive at 5.15pm 
Class runs 14th, 21st, May. No class on 7th or 28th. All welcome. These events are free but we ask for a donation towards the upkeep of the centre if you can spare it.
Monday Drop-In Buddhism For Today Class:  6.45 – 7.30pm Dates as for above. This class covers the life of the Buddha and his key teachings. Topics include, ethics, karma and love, ritual and mantra, and spiritual friendship. These introductory sessions follow an 8

week cycle (the last cycle of which began on 16th April) and take place every Monday at 6.45pm. No need to book, just drop in. Sessions are free, donations welcome.
Drop-in early morning meditations to welcome the Full Moon There will be morning meditations from  7.30-8.30amand 9-9.40am (doors open at 7am) from 30th April to 4th May and Monday 28 May to Friday 1 June. . Open to allfrom beginners to seasoned meditators.Free (though donations help towards the costs of running the centre).
New – Weekend Chillout Mantra Hour  Friday evenings, 8-9pm on 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th May. Come and chill out, evoking the presence of the Buddha with a mantra session led by Jyotipala. All are welcome – no experience of meditation necessary. Please arrive before 8pm as we might not be able to answer the door after that. By donation.
