Sangha Nights and Regular Classes in January

All our events are now taking place in our new centre at 187 Westgate road.

Sangha Nights

Timings for Sangha nights at our new centre are Wednesdays at:
5.30-6.30pm – shared vegan supper (please bring a contribution)
6:30-7:10 – meditation
7:15-8:15 – Dharma study (or puja)
8.15- 8.35 – Break
8:35- 9.15 – meditation

We start off the new year with a full moon puja led by Jyotipala on Wednesday 3rd January.

On Wednesday 10th January Akuppa will give a talk about the purpose of the dedication ceremony and the vajras, flames and lotuses which are part of it’s protective power.

On Wednesday 17th January we continue our exploration of the Triratna Refuge Tree with a talk about Tara by one of the teaching team.

On Wednesday 24th January Akuppa will talk about Manjughosa then on Wednesday 31st January he will lead the full moon puja which will be dedicated to the Protector Bodhisattvas.

 

Regular Classes

Monday Drop-In Beginners Meditation: 5:30pm-6:30pm Class starts promptly so please arrive at 5.15pm 
Class runs 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th January. No classes on 1st January. All welcome. These events are free but we ask for a donation if you can spare it.

 

Monday Drop-In Buddhism For Today Class:  6.45 – 7.30pm covers the life of the Buddha and his key teachings. Topics include, ethics, karma and love, ritual and mantra, and spiritual friendship. These introductory sessions follow an 8 week cycle and take place every Monday at 6.45pm. The class started a new eight-week cycle on Monday 4th December. No need to book, just drop in. Sessions are free, donations welcome.

 

Drop-in early morning meditations These start again at our new centre and there will be morning meditations from  7.30-8.30am and 9-9.40am (doors open at 7am), from Monday 29/1/18 – Friday 2/2/18. Open to all from beginners to seasoned meditators. Free (though donations help towards the costs of running the centre).
