Regular Classes and Sangha nights in February

All our events are now taking place in our new centre at 187 Westgate road.

Monday Drop-In Beginners Meditation5:30pm-6:30pm Class starts promptly so please arrive at 5.15pm  
Class runs 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th February. All welcome. These events are free but we ask for a donation if you can spare it.
Monday Drop-In Buddhism For Today Class:  6.45 – 7.30pm covers the life of the Buddha and his key teachings. Topics include, ethics, karma and love, ritual and mantra, and spiritual friendship. These introductory sessions follow an 8 week cycle and take place every Monday at 6.45pm. No need to book, just drop in. Sessions are free, donations welcome.
Drop-in early morning meditations These start again at our new centre and there will be morning meditations from  7.30-8.30am and 9-9.40am (doors open at 7am), from Monday 29/1/18 – Friday 2/2/18 and from Monday 26/2/18 – Friday 2/3/18. Open to all from beginners to seasoned meditators. Free (though donations help towards the costs of running the centre).

 

Sangha Nights  in February

Our timings for Sangha nights at our new centre are:
5.30-6.30pm – shared vegan supper (please bring a contribution)
6:30-7:10 – meditation
7:15-8:15 – Dharma study (or puja)
8.15- 8.35 – Break
8:35- 9.15 – meditation
 

We start off the month with a talk by Sraddhamani on the Bodhisattva Kshitigarbha on Wednesday 7th February

On Wednesday 14th February Aryashila will be leading an evening marking  Parinirvana, the date we commemorate the Buddha’s physical death and attainment of supreme enlightenment. It’s an opportunity for us to reflect on the Buddha’s life and teachings, the mystery of life and death, and those we have loved who have passed away.  Please bring a photograph of someone you’d like to remember during this special evening.

On Wednesday 21st February we begin a new series of talks on the 5 Jinas starting with an introductory talk by Jyotipala on the 5 Buddha mandala.

On Wednesday 28th February Jyotipala will lead a practice night and full moon puja.
