Our Burnlaw retreat and Sangha day in November was a lovely opportunity for getting together with Sangha members old and new. We will be planning our next retreat in the near future so will post dates for retreats in 2017 as soon as we are able. In the meantime look out for photos from the last few retreats……

Next Mitra day Saturday 17th December 10-1pm.Open to all mitras. Bring food for a shared vegan lunch.
Sangha Nights in December
Sangha nights are arranged so you can come to the early part of the evening, the later part, or both. The timetable for each Wednesday evening is:
5:30-6:30 – opportunity for shared vegetarian supper – please bring along a contribution
6:30-7:15 – meditation
7:15-7:30 – break
7:30-8:25 – dharma study
8:25-8:45 – break
8:45-9:30 – meditation
Turning the wheel of the dharma – winter theme for Sangha Nights
On our Sangha evenings we’ll continue our exploration of the noble eightfold path – the first teaching of the Buddha after his enlightenment.Often depicted as a wheel with eight spokes, all working together to help our lives maintain positive forward momentum. Evenings will focus on each spoke of the wheel:

Wednesday 7th December Perfect Action – from the Noble Eightfold path
Wednesday 14th December Full Moon Puja
Wednesday 21st December Perfect Livelihood – from the Noble Eightfold path
Wednesday 28th December Perfect Effort – from the Noble Eightfold path
Regular Classes in December
All our events are at our centre on the 3rd floor, Broadacre House NE1 6HQ.
Monday Drop-In Beginners Meditation: 5:30pm-6:30pm Class runs 5th, 12th 19th December. No classes on 26th December or 2nd January. All welcome. This class is free but we ask for a donation if you can spare it.
Monday Drop-In Buddhism For Today Class: 6.45 – 7.30pm
Dates and cost as above. This class is specifically aimed at beginners and covers a different Buddhist teaching each week. The evenings follow a sequence, the next cycle of which began on 21/11/16 All welcome.

Drop-in early morning meditations This month Lynne will be leading morning meditations from 7.30-8.30am and 9-9.40am (doors open at 7am), from Monday 12th – Friday 16th December .Open to all from beginners to seasoned meditators. Free (though donations help towards the costs of running the centre).
Dharma ramble Sunday 18th December
The next Dharma ramble will be on Sunday 18th December. Meet at Millenium bridge in Newcastle at 9.30am for a gentle walk with Sangha members. All welcome.
The dream workshop will be a body of individuals that meet together regularly so that trust, structure and safety can evolve. This space will offer an opportunity to grow, bringing awareness, refection, and insight to the dream world. Playing with different realities and individual’s perceptions to this mysterious world we escape to every time we fall asleep.Why do we dream? The external world functions in a state of rapid perpetual flux and involves many inter-relationships, which incorporate feelings and thoughts that are ordinary or extraordinary, and all the subsequent information that arises from these relationships and situations.All welcome.
